Cloud computing is all about how a company can help put their information on the internet to help them keep up with the massive amonts of data they have. One company has to sacrafice the money and other company rep the benifits of how the cloud works. A company can only pay for the usage they need , if a company needs more they pay for more if a company wants less they get less. this is the best thing that a comapny can do for it organization, you only pay for what you need.

Neural Network Software and Breast Cancer

Classify Breast Cancer Cells with BrainMaker Neural Network Software
Breast cancer cells are traditionally examined under a microscope by a human, who decides the degree of cancer present. People are inconsistent in these judgements from day to day and from person to person.

A BrainMaker neural network that classifies breast cancer cells has been developed. The system was developed by Andrea Dawson, MD of the University of Rochester Medical Center, Richard Austin, MD of the University of California at San Francisco, and David Weinberg, MD, PhD of the Brigham and Womens' Hospital and Harvard Medical School of Boston. Initial comparisons showed that BrainMaker is in good agreement with human observer cancer classifications.

Cancer cells are measured with the CAS-100 (Cell Analysis System, Elmhurst, IL). There are 17 inputs to the neural network which represent morphometric features such as density and texture. There are four network outputs representing nuclear grading. The cancerous nucleus is graded as being well, moderate, or poorly differentiated, or as benign. Correct grade assignments were made between 52% and 89% of the time on cases not seen during training. The lower success rate (for well differentiated) may have been due to the smaller percentage of this type in the training set. In addition, heterogeneity is much lower in well-differentiated tumors. Cancerous nuclei were classified within one grade of the correct grade.

Neural Networks

BrainMaker Neural Networks and Technical Analysis of Currencies
Mr. James O'Sullivan, of O'Sullivan Brothers Investments, Ltd. (Connecticut) has been successfully using many BrainMaker (California Scientific) neural networks on a daily basis for three years to do financial forecasting. He earned $250,000 in one month using neural networks to advise him on his New York Stock Exchange seat trades. Some of his networks are 88-90% accurate in their predictions, according to Mr. O'Sullivan. He uses an automated neural network system that monitors more than twenty different financial markets on a daily basis.

Mr. O'Sullivan has some unusual designs which act more as detectors of specific market conditions, rather than as exact price predictors. He combines the neural network data with other data from his technical analysis software to produce an automated report about a certain market. He gets his data live via satellite from Data Broadcasting and puts it into a charting and technical data module. He has pre-programmed the various algebraic manipulations to be performed on his data before BrainMaker files are built. He does moving averages, changes from period to period, and a few proprietary operations. He runs new data through the system and produces the one-page report in about thirty seconds. He says at least 80% of his decision-making is based on neural network predictions.

Mr. O'Sullivan has not fully disclosed his neural network designs to us, but his basic insights are still quite valuable. The key is to ask the neural network the right kind of questions. He asks questions such as "What is the probability of the product (or market) going up 0.618 standard deviations?" and "What percentage of the time does it go up that much?" He also asks questions about the directional behavior of the market and at what price the product (or market) is likely to take off in one direction or the other.

Mr. O'Sullivan's neural networks output several different things such as predicted prices, limits, and directional thrust. One neural network outputs the probability of a certain price occurring the next time period. Another neural network produces best stop price and best target price for long and short positions. Other neural networks produce directional indicators for three market energies. Another predicts the level at which the market is likely to take off.

In one design, the network is given various market conditions as input. The training output is the likelihood of various changes in price. For example, his neural network is told during training that, given similar market conditions, the closing price goes up at least 0.313 standard deviations above the prior day 90% of the time, at least 0.618 deviations 80% of the time, and at least 1 deviation 70% of the time.

An interesting phenomenon of the market is that when a change starts occurring in one direction or the other, there is a point at which it is very likely to continue moving in that direction for several time periods. Once a price reaches that level, there is a reduced risk to buy or sell (whichever is appropriate). Mr. O'Sullivan calls the network that predicts this price level his Risk Barometer network. He uses all the neural networks trained for a specific market when making decisions. For example, if the long term trend is up, the Fast Movement network is a large positive number, his Risk Barometer says 233.092, and the NYSE is at 250, it could indicate an overreacted market that will reverse itself soon.

Probability if...UP if...DOWN
85% 231.538 231.163
70% 231.791 230.909
60% 232.316 230.383
50% 233.675 229.025
40% 233.700 229.000

For Trades: Long buy Short sell
best stop = 230.708 231.992
best target = 232.054 230.646

Directional Indicators:
Trend Reaction Fast Movement Risk Barometer
Long Term 0.5066 21.499 -1.329 233.092
Medium Term -7.2280 18.580 8.387 227.643
Short Term 10.7250 4.243 3.377 229.450

This fella used the network to his advantage so that he could make prediction in the stock market, if it was going up or down and it helped him find the best places for his money. This is a great thing to have if you can narrow the field down and use the statistical information into usable helpful information.

Honda's efforts to stay on top

Hondas effort to achieve a competitive advantage through strategy implementation has paid off. Honda has grown all aspect of its organization in the past years. Sales are up in motorcycles, automobiles, finance and power products. Honda has made it a point to grow its organization toward the future with its production of robots and other futuristic devices and they fulfilled that promise. Honda has also increased the number of employees that they employ to manufacture their products. Hondas market share has also went up against it competitors due to the fact of its leader motivating the organization to move forward. Honda consumer image has also made a dramatic increase since the economy has gone down in the past years. People are taking to the idea that Honda makes a superior product to its competitors in the aspect of longevity, reliability and resale value. In the global market Honda is on the rise in almost every aspect. Honda has a bright future ahead of them in the global market if they can stay on the forefront of technology and keep their brand image secure.

Strategic leadership on honda

Honda has a very key group of leaders inside of its organization. These leaders have made Honda what it is to this day. All these leaders had a vision of what direction they thought the company should have moved in and they have moved the organization that way very effectively. The first aspect of the leaders in Honda is that they all have the vision of what Honda is moving forward to. These leaders are in the process of designing and moving Honda in the way of the future. Honda is always in the pursuit of excellence in everything they do this stems mostly from the organizational leaders. The leaders in Honda are very proven self motivated people that push the organization to new heights with every idea. Most of these leaders are organizational leaders meaning that they all hold management positions inside of the organization. Most of these leaders are held to such high standard because of their personal bases power; this is that their personality and behavior motivate people to do their best and to come up with new ideas. Honda is a very proven company with many proven leader and this shows in everything that they produce.

Organizational Structure on honda

Honda has a very tall structure inside of their organization. Honda tries to spread the control of their organization evenly over all of their departments. Honda feels that no one department should have enough power to run the company. The executive council is at the top of Hondas organizational structure. The council supervises the company and the direction that it is going and makes sure that the company stays on track with the overall vision of the company. The decisions the council makes are trying to maintain that the company keep making a high quality product and keep innovating without growing too much to become too complex. The main goal of Honda is to make a good high quality product that people think gives them safety and comfort. This is what the council bases every decision off of. Honda also has a good horizontal lay out of their organization. They have the motorcycle operations, automobile operations, power products operations, customer service operations, production operations, purchasing operations, business support operations, and business management operations. These are laid out so that there is very little distance between top management and the lower level employees. Honda does a very good job with their organization, on making sure that everything is ran as planned and that nothing gets out of line with the way that it is suppose to be. Honda is also a very centralized organization, with several layers of management that control the company by maintaining a high level of authority, which is the power to make decisions concerning business activities. Honda focuses on top-down management, whereby executives at the top communicate by telling middle managers, who then tell first-level managers, who then tell the staff what to do and how to do it. Honda is a formulized organization as well, they have rules and procedures that are written out and enforced along with regulations. These rules and regulation are enforced inside of the organization and are followed by every employee no matter their status in the company.

Strategic Control on honda

Starting with business execution, Honda has established a system for operating its organizational units that reflects its fundamental corporate philosophy. Honda has separate headquarters that have been set up for each region, business, and function, and a general manager from the Board of Directors or an operating officer has been assigned to each headquarters and main division. In addition, the Executive Council deliberates important matters concerning management, and regional operating boards deliberate important matters concerning management of their respective regions. The result is a system that functions effectively and efficiently, and addresses the needs of customers and societies around the world in a swift and appropriate manner. The strategies from Honda motors are formulated and top managers set goals, and these goal are evaluated against predetermined figures that Honda feel that they can reach. Honda always has the mind set of “are we doing the right things for our customers” and Honda strives to” do things right the first time”. These two quotes are the back bone of Honda motors and their strategic control that they put forth toward their automobiles

Corporate goverance on honda

Based on Honda’s fundamental corporate philosophy, they are working to enhance corporate governance as one of its most important management issues. Honda’s aim is to have our customers and society, as well as our shareholders and investors, place even greater trust in them to ensure that Honda is "a company that society wants to exist."
To ensure objective control of Honda’s management, outside directors and outside corporate auditors are appointed to the Board of Directors and the Board of Corporate Auditors, which are responsible for the supervision and auditing of the Company. Honda has also introduced an operating officer system, aimed at strengthening both the execution of business operations at the regional and local levels and the supervision by the Board of Directors. The term of office of each director is limited to one year, and the amount of remuneration payable to them is determined according to a standard that reflects their performance in the Company. Honda’s goal in doing this is to maximize the flexibility with which our directors respond to changes in the operating environment. Honda is working autonomously within each division to strengthen legal and ethical compliance and risk management. The Audit Office’s task is to carry out effective audits for the performance of each division's business. This is to enhance the trust and understanding of shareholders and investors, Honda's policy emphasizes the appropriate disclosure of company information, and financial results on a quarterly basis with timely and accurately disclosing of management strategies. Honda will continue raising its level of transparency in the future to further the trust of its stockholder and customers.

Strategic leadership

Strategic leadership in an organization is the process of transforming organizations from what they are to what the leader would have them become. The roles of a leader are determine the direction of the organization, design the organization to best fit the actions that he is wanting to take and nurture a culture dedicated to excellence and ethical behavior. In strategic leadership there will always be barriers to change, these are characteristic of individuals and organizations that prevent a leader from transforming an organization. There are many different barriers to change that a leader must overcome. One of those barriers is systematic barriers; these are barriers to change that stem from an organizational design that impedes the proper flow and evaluation of information. Another barrier is behavior barriers, these are barriers to change associated with the tendency for managers to look at issues from a biased or limited perspective based on their prior education and experience. The next barriers a leader might face is political barriers these are barriers to change related to conflicts arising from power relationships. There are many sources of power in an organization. Power is a leader’s ability to get things done in a way he or she wants them to be done. There is organizational power, which is power that stems from a leader’s holding a formal management position. There is also personal bases power; this is power that stems from a leader’s personality characteristics and behavior. There are also politics in an organization, these are power struggles from the head leaders to get what they want in the organization by trying to get people to back them more than the other leader so they can get things done in the way they want them done. The next section is the analysis of my company Honda motors and how these principals fit into their organization.

Organizational Structure

There are two types of organizational structures that an organization can have, they are either a vertical structure or a horizontal structure. A vertical structure is a hierarchically structured organization where all management activities are controlled by a centralized management staff. This traditional type of organization often develops strong bureaucratic control over all organizational activities. A horizontal structure is an organization with few or no intervening levels of management between the top executive and the workers. This means that managers are much closer to their employees in this flat type structure than in a tall vertical structure. This allows for much faster transition times between problems that organizations have. An organization can also be centralized in these structures, an organizations with a centralized structure has several layers of management that control the company by maintaining a high level of authority, which is the power to make decisions concerning business activities. With a centralized structure, line-and-staff employees have limited authority to carry something out without prior approval. This organizational structure tends to focus on top-down management, whereby executives at the top communicate by telling middle managers, who then tell first-level managers, who then tell the staff what to do and how to do it. An organization can also be formalized in these structures. This means the extent to which rules and procedures are written out and enforced, organizations with high formalization, like bureaucracies, have strict enforcement of many set written rules and regulations. The next section deals with the strategic leadership of organizations and how it affects them.

Strategic Control

There are two types of strategic control there is the traditional approach and the contemporary approach. The first approach I will define is the traditional approach, this is a sequential method of organizational control in which strategies are formulated and top management sets goals, strategies are implemented, and performance is measured against the predetermined goal set. The next approach is the contemporary approach, this follows the same guidelines but there are two distinct differences, informational control and behavioral control. Informational control details with the concern whether or not the organization is “Doing the right things”. Behavioral control on the other hand asks if the organization is “Doing things right” in the implementation strategy. Informational control is a method of organizational control in which a firm gathers and analyzes information from the internal and external environment in order to obtain the best fit between the organization’s goals and strategies and the strategic environment. Behavioral control is a method of organizational control in which a firm influences the actions of employees through culture, reward, and boundaries. Inside an organization there is also control systems, these are corporate culture and reward systems. Corporate culture is a system of shared values and beliefs that shape a company’s people, organizational structure and control systems to produce behavioral norms. Reward systems represent a powerful means of influencing an organization’s culture, focusing efforts on high-priority tasks, and motivating individuals and collective task performance. The next section deals with the organizational structure and how control is passed down from top management to the bottom of the ladder.

Corporate Governance

One aspect of corporate governance is agency relationship. This is the relationship between principals and their agents, with emphasis on two problems: the conflicting goals of principals and agents, along with the difficulty of principals to monitor the agents, and the different attitudes and preferences towards risk of principals and agents. Another aspect of corporate governance is managerial opportunism. This is where a manager is pursuing their own interest to the detriment of the corporation. Managers will spend corporate funds on expensive perquisites, devote time and resources to pet projects, engage in power struggles and negate attractive merger offers because they may result in increased employment risk. The next aspect of corporate governance is the corporate governance problem. This is where the relationship among various participants in determining the direction and performance of the corporation fail to align managerial motives with the best interest of the shareholders, elected representatives and the board of directors. There are also governance mechanisms; the first is the board of directors. They are a group that has a fiduciary duty to ensure the company is run consistently with the long-term interests of the owners, or shareholders, of a corporation and that acts as an intermediary between the shareholders and management. The next mechanism is executive compensation; this is the most critical roles of the board of directors is to create incentives that align the interest of the CEO and top executives with the interest of owners of the corporation. This is to adopt policies and strategies that maximize the value of the stockholders shares. The board can require CEOs to become substantial owners of company stock, base salaries and bonuses on performance and they can also enforce dismissal for poor performance. Another mechanism is threat of takeover; this is the risk to management of the firm being acquired by hostile raiders. The next section deals with strategic controls and how they are used within organizations.

The Neural Network

A neural network acquires knowledge through learning.
A neural network's knowledge is stored within inter-neuron connection strengths known as synaptic weights.

The true power and advantage of neural networks lies in their ability to represent both linear and non-linear relationships and in their ability to learn these relationships directly from the data being modeled. Traditional linear models are simply inadequate when it comes to modeling data that contains non-linear characteristics. Models can be made for anything that has historial data that can be backed up.

hondas problem/solution

Honda is a very image based company; they strive for excellence and do whatever it takes for customer satisfaction. Recently Honda has had a problem with their airbags overinflating. Honda says that their air bags might over inflate and burst spraying potentially deadly metal shards at their consumers if they are involved in a wreck. This will hurt the brand image of Honda which will be a drastic blow to the organization. This is because Honda is such an image based organization. Honda does a very good job of handling these situation and they fix these problems before they turn in potential treating situations.

There are many ways to solve the problems that Honda is having. Many of the resolutions that can fix the problem are not beneficial to the way that Honda does business but there is one solution that will fix the problem and have a positive outcome. The solution to the problem that Honda has is the focused differentiation strategy. This strategy will focus on the market segment of the special needs of the buyers. The consumers in America tend to have a higher crash ratio and this means that Honda needs to put more emphasis on air bag safety. This is how they will exploit the market, advertising that they have put much needed emphasis on the safety of the cars they produce. This will expand the market and reassure the consumers of Honda that they are making the best product possible and that their safety will be reassured when they purchase and drive a Honda vehicle or any other Honda product.

hondas international competetive strategy

Hondas international competitive strategy is multidemestic strategy. This is because Honda sells many products in many different regions that demand different aspects from relatively the same product. People in the USA want motorcycles from Honda to be sporty and powerful, while people in other countries use their motorcycle for everyday transportation and they need it to be gas friendly and almost maintenance free. This different aspect of the same product that Honda produces makes Honda have to follow multidemestic strategy. Honda does this with almost every product that it sells due to the variation of the products that they sell and the uses that they have all around the world.

hondas international entry strategy

Honda is a worldwide company that is identifiable in all regions of the world. Honda does a considerable amount of business in foreign markets that it exports to. Honda’s international entry strategy is exporting for that very reason. Honda recently set up a 100% export oriented auto manufacturing facility in china to provide for all of the exporting it does. For Honda to devote a whole facility and put millions of dollars into it, Honda had to realize the advantages of making products for foreign markets. Honda’s market share in foreign countries goes up every year and the organization plans on this to keep going up due to their massive research and development that goes on with the products they provide. Honda has many competitors in the markets that they are involved with. The next paragraph will talk about Hondas international competitive strategy.

hondas corporate strategy

Honda is a company that is involved in many aspects of business. They have Honda jet, Honda power (small engines), Honda motorcycle, and Honda motors (Automobiles). This makes Honda a diversified company involved in many aspect of business around the world. Honda’s corporate strategy is unrelated diversification strategy for this every reason. When Honda jet and Honda motorcycle make their products to sell to consumers they cannot relate these products in the manufacturing process or any other process. There are too many differences in how the products are made, how they are used and how they are sold. People that want a Honda motorcycle have no use for a Honda jet motor, and the people that want Honda jet motors have no use for a motorcycle engines in their jets. This is where Honda has two different product lines that have no way of meeting on the value chain to increase profits.

hondas generic strategy

Honda is a broad company that tries to reach all of it consumer in the most effective ways possible. Honda always tries to be an innovator when it comes to their products in the market. They spend a considerable amount in their R&D department trying to differentiate their products from competitors. Honda’s generic strategy is differentiation, this is because Honda always strives to create and produce products of the highest quality at a reasonable price for worldwide consumer satisfaction. Honda has a slogan that says “everyone one knows someone that loves a Honda”. Honda tries to separates itself away from other car companies by projecting an image that their consumers only have things good to say about their product. Honda strives for consumer satisfaction and customer loyalty, because they know that satisfied customers will help the company project their image into the market. Honda customers think that when they buy a Honda automobile, they are buying more than just a car, or a truck, they are buying something that will last a life time and will hold its resale value. Honda customers expect to be able to pass there automobile down to their kids or grand kids.

security measuring stick

Security should be measure in not how many processes you have set up to protect against security breaches but how your employees act. This is how informed are your employees. If they are put in a situation will they make the right choose? This is how security should be measured. You have to put the responsibility on the people that handle the data; you cannot put all the emphasis on the security system. A truly good secure organization will have competent employees who know how to handle sensitive information and strive to protect it, with the knowledge that they have been provided with by the organization.

running a pilot program

You can run a pilot in many ways, but the overall effect is to work out the kinks in the system before it is rolled out and to improve on the processes if they can be improved upon. This pilot process is also just to see if the process is good enough or if the people think that it will be effective enough to implement. When a pilot is ran it is usually ran with many of the upper manager so that the best minds in the company can pick apart the strategy so that when they tell their department to implement the system that it will go smooth. You can also run a pilot where you pull people from different parts of the organization that show good leadership and that people trust, understand and relate to. This will help the strategy get accepted faster and make the whole process easier. Running a pilot also checks to see if the implementation will be feasible to the whole organization. When you run a pilot everyone might love the new strategy but the strategy might not be in the best interest of the company at that point in time because it is too costly to implement and will tie up to much capital.

optimizing processes

The next step in the process is to optimize the processes and technologies. This can be a great undertaking but in the end the reward for making everything so efficient will be worth it. If you optimize the process at your organization this means that when your organization is working they are making the most progress forward to get a job done faster and more effective. This will greatly improve cost and the functionality of the organization. The technology that you use to do these processes is also important in making your processes effective. If you have the best team in the world but the technology is outdated then you will be no better off than a less effective team with update technology. Advanced technology and advanced processes go hand in hand you can hardly have a good process without a good technology catching the data off the process, or supplying the data to the process.

supporting employees

After you have figured out how to look at the data, go use it, the next step in the process is to enable people and empower them. You can do this by encouraging your employees to do their best. You can tell them that you have full confidence in them at all times and it is ok to mess up. If they do you will not get on to them you will help them to improve themselves for the next situation. Empowering employees is a critical part in organizations, if an employee thinks that if they mess up they will get fired or fussed at then they will be less likely to do anything that would help the organization. An empowered employee will find new ways to do things to make the organization more effective and efficient and this will propel the organization forward. Just think of the employees at an organization like the engine in a car the managers control the car but the engine does all the work. If the managers give the engine plenty of gas and keep the oil changed the engine will go far but if the managers cut off the fuel to the engine then the car will not go far. This would be the same if the managers gave the engine plenty of fuel but no oil, the engine would try but then it would cease. Managers have to give the resources needed to do the job and the empowerment to do the job as well.

Process Formulation

If you go through the organization and figure out the processes of how things work and fit together you can get a much better outcome than if you do not understand them. The information that comes through an organization is vital but where that information comes from is just as vital. The people in the organization are a key component to how an organization functions. Once you go through the organization and figure how things work you have to do something with that information so that it can help you in your decision processes. If the data that you gather is not put together right then all the work you did figuring out the information was a waste. The way you analyze the data is just as important as gathering the information in the first place.

6 degrees of separation

This is where you are never 6 hops away on the internet from anyone. Someone can get in touch with anyone in the world. This is a key thought to think about if you know how big the world is. This means that there are many people that are connected with many other people. The world is just one big social network and the more we are connected the more we will learn from one another.

facebook

Facebook is a good way to get connected with other individuals. If everyone had a facebook account the world would be a whole lot more connected. There is also another way to connect to other individual this through twitter. Twitter is also another social network so that you can connect with people. Some people can take facebook and twitter too seriously and they become stalkers. This is the major drawback to facebook is stalkers. Facebook is easy to break into and if you talk right most people will think you are the person that you are impersonating and they might get drawn into meeting someone somewhere and getting rapped or robbed. These are the drawbacks but the gains of social networks far out weights the bad. This is why everyone should have a social network account somewhere.

Statistic information

Companies use data everyday to get a better picture of their consumers. Stats are a key point in every organization these days. If companies did not use stats today most companies would fall apart because they are so reliant on the information they get to make their products and how much to send and how to ship. Stat also tells the best things to send at this time and what not to send at this time. Stats are a major factor in organizations and they are just going to get bigger and bigger in the overall picture of organizations.

Learning In Organizations

Learning in organization is changing for the better. Organizations are finally using employees to get a better idea of the overall view of the organizations. Companies are starting from the bottom and working their way up when they implement things. Companies found out that it is much easier to figure out how things can be implemented and go from there instead of wanting something and figuring out later that it cannot be done that way and the way that it can be done is not the way they wanted. Companies are finally taking advantage of the employees they hire for more than just their labor.

Context

The context in which organizations operate is key to the success of organizations. If a company wants to grows its business it should reach out to the consumer and get their opinion on certain issues. Getting consumer information will help a business more than any other form of data. This is also the only source of data that a company can get for free. Creating a blog and letting people tell you what they think is one of the best ways to show this idea. A company should always know what their consumers are thinking in this day and age. There should never be a product that a company should not have a good idea on how it will sell. If a company does not use consumer information they are only hurting themselves.

different ways to collect and view data

DATA- a collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn

INFORMATION- knowledge acquired through experience or study

KNOWLEDGE- facts known by a person or group of people

WISDOM- the ability or result of an ability to think and act utilizing knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight

Value creation

This is where if you get many people working together they come up with a much better idea than if just one person came up with it. This happens because different people come up with different ways of viewing a problem. The more ways you can look at a problem the more versatile the answer to the problem will be.

Barriers- this is where people will either help you or they won’t because they don’t know you or they want all the knowledge themselves.

Collaboration in businesses

Collaboration is key in businesses today. If businesses are not using collaboration they are missing out on many ideas. When people work together people make better products than when they work alone. Collaboration can be used in many aspects in a business. It can be used in the production of products; it can be used to come up with the ideas for products. Collaboration can be used for anything in an organization or business. When people work together in businesses, businesses thrive and when people withhold information and keep it to themselves a business wilts and that business will fall apart from the inside out so this is why collaboration is so key in organizations.

Technology or people who is to blame

In my opinion, people are the reason for most problems in technology. Companies always think that it is the technologies fault that a person cannot enter the data in the computer the right way or that it was the technologies fault that the lab top went missing with everyone’s social security card number. This is a problem I have with companies and stupid people. If a company is willing to hire a stupid person they should be ready to handle the stupid person’s mistakes. This should be no big deal because most companies are ran by stupid people that keep 30 million in profits from last year because they want to buy a new house on a remote island for their 9 month old kid to live on when they are grown. You can see that I am so passionate about this topic. I wish that I was a billionaire so that I could at least show all of these rich people that they are so stupid. O.k. sorry but if you have an opinion give it to me because I think I need someone to explain this topic to me thanks.

organizations & their cultures

An organization culture is such a vital part in the way that a business is ran. If a company does not understand its culture in its business then it is soon to fail. The culture of an organization deals with the way people interact, how they associate thing to one another, how people perceive other people. How people react to certain situations. There is a lot to the culture of an organization. When a company can harness what the culture is in is organization that is when a company can sit back and relax and watch the money pile up as they would say. This is because that is you can make all of these things work together, that is when people want to come to work and make better project and stay late and come early and do all the things that make companies great. You see a company is only as good as its working parts. Just because the head of the organization does one thing does not mean that the body will do the same. This is why if the head (the CEO and upper management) focus on what the body wants then they will be able to move in the right direction. This is how all big business should be run in my belief.

A database is such a key role in an organization. If a database goes down a company (well most of them) go down with it. This is where all the information is stored for the whole company. It is such a vital part to have a good database team, that companies try their best to recruit the very best people in the field to work and maintain their databases. If a company now a day’s tried to say that database was just a minor part of an organization the company might fire him (or they should). Everything that a company does is now on the database. The reports and queries and so many other parts to an organization is just there at your finger tips because the smart people a long time ago made things much easier. If you ask a regular person where do you think a company stores your records, they would probably say, somewhere in a filling cabinet in a dark room? People that don’t know much about computer have no idea that database have changed the way companies do business. Companies can run fast get better analysis of thing and so much more because of database. I think that database technology will be the cutting edge of technology in the future. When we can grasps the knowledge that comes in data that is when databases will reign supreme.

How does a company maintain a competitive advantage

A company maintains a competitive advantage by utilizing the skills that they have excelled in for so long. Sometimes things need to be changed to compete with the evolving market. When this happens there is no need for a company to go crazy trying to find away to reinvent themselves. They just need to stick with what has always worked. A company has distinct competences that it works with and no matter how much they want to do something different or anything else they have to stick with what they are good at or profitable at, the moment they differ from that, is when the company will start to go downhill and start to lose money. So if a company wants to maintain its competitive advantages they better start early and figure out what they can do with what they are ready have to make them competitive again.

About.com

About.com manages its business in a very unique way. About has guides as they call them, that they employee to record information on topics that they are experts in. This is a concept that is very different than many companies. These guides work on their own time and work at their own pace. These people are an essential resource to About.com. About is so successful because these Guides are highly motivated to work. About.com is a website that lets people ask questions about any topic they want and get answers that have been posted or answered. About is most like a search engine that is designed to help people find information. About.com makes its money like most search engine companies they allow advertisement to try to sell products. Companies have found out that people that like to try to find out things they also want to purchase product. This is good for both people and companies that advertise on About and for About. The more people buy from these advertisements the more they will advertise. Then that means that about gets more money and that means they can pay more people to be guides, and that means that better information get passed to the people. I think this is very important, what about you.

Internet and test

It is crazy how things change. I can remember that everyone use to have to take all test by hand and it was forbidden to use the computers because teacher thought you could cheat. Now i go to class and the teacher say do your homework online take this 150 question test online. Teacher now a days dont want anything on paper. I had to right a paper the other day in one of my class i thought that my hand was going to fall off because in never write anymore. i donr know if this is a propblem but it is funny how life changes so fast i always thought my parents were crazy when they said that things change and they could remember when things use to be different. Now aday i can see things changing day by day. t is crazy to think how much life will change in the next year beside then next 5 to 10. In stead of parents asking there kids what do they want to be, they will be saying now what do you not want to be cuz it looks like you will have to do a little of eveything to get by in the future.

job hunting

The market for jobs is opening up. Companies I have found are trying to find well rounded college grads that have a high gpa. This is good for me but they all want to do interns or not pay enough. I donr know what to do. I want to get paid for what i do but i dont want to waste my time with an intern with some company to find out that all they were doing was using me to patch a hole in their company and then let me go when i intership is up. If you have any information or have experience in this problem let me know please.

X-box or Playstation problems

X-Box- has this problem called the three rings of death. This is due to the hard drive failing and not being able to process the games anymore. This problem is easyly fixed though. All you have to due is send it back if it is under warrenty and they will fix it and seend it back and you are good to go. If the systemis not under warrenty then you are screwed becaus you could buy a new system for what they want to fix the problem. So this is a problem becaus eit always seems to happen right after the warrenty runs out.
Playstation- has this problem to it is a little different but mostly the same. If oyu send a playstation back though you might have to send it back multiple times to fix the same problem it seems like they justcant get it right the first time. ou can send a playsation back though and it doesnt have to be under warrenty and they will fix it for free. But they just cant seems to get it right

So you cant win for loosing this is the case in many things but these two companies need to find out how to help out the customers and I and promise you the one that can do it the best will win out in profits by a mile. Due something PLEASE!!

Facebook!!!

I have a account on facebook like most people, but facebook here lately has been doing strange things. I just thought they were doing updates and things of that nature but come to find out people are putting viruses and trojan horses on there. It comes from the update section on facebook. Facebook will tell you that someone has posted something aboout you then it will ask you to access your personal account you setup somthing like normal but this time it will give you viruses and trojans. I got me a trojan the other day and it was not good so beware of facebook.

Contrast- (data, information, knowledge, & wisdom

Data- to me data is the key element to any problem. You have to have data to find out the best way to do something. You also have to share this data. You also have to use the data in a way that will be benifical to your cause. Data is key to any problem.
Information- This is what you get from the data. You would never have information if you did not have data. Information can be very helpful in finding out how to do things in the best ways. Many people do things everyday and find new and better ways of doing them. If everyone would share this information people could find the solutions to problems much faster.
knowledge- Is what you get from information. If you study information you can find out the best ways to do certain jobs. If you use this information and build from it and come up with new ways of doing things then this is where knowledge is formed.
Wisdom- this is what you get when you use knowledge to figure out other problems. This only comes when you have delt with data that has turned into information that has then turned into knowledge about something that has then been used to find new ways to do things. When you put all of these thing together this is where wisdom comes from. Wisdom is not give it is earned through hard work and determination and through years of experience dealing with the same problems.

knowledge management system: This is where you share information in a company to help the company make a better product. This will help the company from reinventing the wheel as they say. If a company shares their knowledge then in the end they will be much more effective than if they worked alone. If other companys would share knowledge then product all over the world could be made better, but that comes at a stee price becase the big companies would run all over the small companies once they had the knowledge. This is why it will never happen but it would be the best for the whole if it did happen. knowledge management system is a great way to make a better product and to be more productive in a company this could save a company thousands to millions over time just sharing what everybody is working on.
Network Effects:This deals with the connections that people have with one another. The more connections someone has the better the spread of knowledge that can happen. When connections are made with other people you pick up their connections to. So if you told someone one thing he could tell the people that he new that you didnt and you reach even more people. The network effect grows very fast and is very effective in spreading knowledge to many people. Facebook ,myspace and many other social networks are great examples of the network effect. Businesses love to use social networks to increase their advertisement potential. Network Effects is a great way to meet people and a great way to do business, The more people you know the better off you are.

Wisdom of Crowds: Is the more people you have that are well informed on a subject and can give you data the better your accuracy will be for your data. This type of polling can be very onesided if the topic in the region is opinionated. The questions that can be asked in this type of polling have to be thought out carefully. The overall outcome of wisdom of crowds is that is you can get a none opinionated question, then your data will be closer than any other form of data that you can capture. This is done by averaging the knowledge or data you collected from the crowd together. The more information you collect on one topic the better overall picture that can be seen of the question at hand on the topic.
knowledge economy: This is were people share the knowledge that they have learned over the years at a job and share it with other people. Instead of letting people make the same mistakes that someone else made many years ago is is better to share your information for the over all good of the organzation. knowledge economy is the goal of making innovation through the sharing of information. The more information that can be known the greater chance that something will be made that will propell the orgaization forward. knowledge economy is basicly the sharing of information with other people for the greater good of the organization, People outside the organization and for the over all good of the information community.

Relational databases are the best things that have came a long in computers for businesses ever. The speed at which businesses picked up after better data could be captured is crazy. I think I found what I like to do in computers and that is database.

Facebook is a great way to meet people but why do so many people want to miss use the system. Everytime I get on a person will have sent me 15 requests to play the 100 games that facebook has. People can you just use facebook to catch up with lost friend or people you have not seen in a while or even talk with your friends dont play facebook games for 5 hours to get to level 50 so the computer will tell you that you have reached the magic horse level.
If everyone thinks that access is an out of date database system, why do still have to learn it in school. I think that access is very usful in certain aspect. Of course new thing have been made that are better but dont kick access to the curb yet.

Security Issues

I think security should be handeled more by the user than the IT department. The IT department can do their part, but the user should do their best to use good security practices so that they can prevent as mush security breches as possible. This will help the IT department greatly I think in their daily activitles so that they can worry about bigger problems.
